Our approach

Love for colour

Colour is very stimulating and nature is full of colours. I see photography as a way to paint with light and colour. Weddings are full of colour and provides the canvas to make really compelling and interesting images.

We love moments

A good moment is all about the truth about our humanity. It can’t be recreated, it is very unique to the time period to which it occurred. A good moment is one that you can feel and for this reason alone it is our duty to capture and preserve them.

Deep storytelling

Most photographers tend to remember to take photos on the key moments in weddings like the first kiss, first dance or cake cutting – and neglect the somewhat mundane moments, the small chores that occur during the day like the small steer the couple have towards each other, or the moment when the father of the bride reluctantly gives his daughter away. We don’t just focus on what’s expected but also on the other little things that truly define who you are. These things don’t seem so important now but most likely will afterwards.

Portraits that have character

It is important that a true representation of a person can only be possible when their character comes through and this is what we aim to do when we take a portrait of a person. No two people are the same so why should their portraits look the same. Each subject we photograph has a very unique story and therefore our approach to portraiture is different each time. We believe that the subject should be treated with respect and dignity otherwise the resulting image will be detrimentally affected.

Love to create art

Photography is not just used to capture of a brief moment in time but it’s also applied in communicating social change or representing an entire social movement. It has affected the way we see and consume history. Approaching our photography as an art form affects how we create our compositions and influences how we tell stories. As such we treasure and present each image in a way that they will last for as long as possible.

All about people

A wedding is a beautiful celebration where not just the couple get married but also their families and friends are there as witnesses to their union. These people are also very much part of the story, therefore they need to be considered in the compositions that are being made. You’ll notice this in our portfolios and image galleries where we have chosen angles and viewpoints to reflect the presence of your family and friends.
