Adeola and Sope | The Engagement Ceremony

I’ve just started using Twitter and I’m really enjoying the experience. The whole idea of sharing your status with everyone who cares to follow is somewhat interesting. Ok, it almost sounds like I have a lot of time on my hands but it’s actually quite a useful tool in this digital age of connections. For those of you interested you can follow me on twitter.com/alakija View full post »

Twitter is any martketers dream for so many reasons! Good to see some colour in your shots as well now. There is a nice tone to it. Not sure how else I can describe it!

Nneka and Nwaji | Wedding Photojournalism

nnk0012

I’ve just come off a plane from Chicago and I am completely exhausted. I haven’t even had the chance since I’ve come back to retrieve the images from camera. I know, very very unprofessional and bad of me. I don’t normally take such risks with images from jobs, but this time I have had little or no time after the event to upload unto my laptop and back up on the external hard-drive.

Since I haven’t done any photographic processing over the weekend, I have decided to post some images from a wedding I did last year where I was hired to employ an approach that I very much love. This post will be about the concept of Story telling and Wedding Photojournalism.

i prefer the inconspicuous guest approach, less posing and more story telling.those are the pictures i believe the couple will enjoy more long after the event.

Dan and Irene | Introducing Caroline

I’m still getting a hang of this style of blogging. I’ve been browsing around the web for tips and tricks on how to make the blog very effective. I have really taken fore granted the neat features offered by Shutterchance.com, such as RSS feeds, upload engines and the community that it provides. Don’t get me wrong before Shutterchance started I had to do all those things that I am beginning to do again on this blog but I haven’t done them in such a long time. View full post »

Nkem & Chikodili

nkem-chikodili254

This is one I have to talk about first.

I played a role in putting together the wedding ceremony between Nkem and his lovely wife Chikodili. They entered a competition offered by Wedding TV called “Beat the budget”. The idea being that you have to nominate a party of close friends to plan and execute your wedding with a very small amount of cash. In his case £3,000. I’m not going to go into the details of it now however I can say that these guys did very well in the competition. They were competing with two other couples and won second prize. View full post »

Welcome to our new blog!

Hello hello hello!

It’s been almost 5 years since I started taking photos and 4 years since I started photo blogging daily on Shutterchance. Whilst that has been such an enjoyable experience in that I have learnt so much in the world of photography both technically and none, I have to move on. As they say all good things have to come to an end at some point.

I have decided to move on indeed. This is going to be a new challenge. One I hope will move me into a new realm in how to express my thoughts, ideas and opinions. Up until now I have done so through images by way of photo blogging on Shutterchance. I am hoping that this platform will provide me with the means to show a much deeper side to my photography. I believe that not all stories can be told by one image alone, this I’m sorry to say is the failings of photo blogging daily on Shutterchance.

As I am new to this I am also hoping that the more experienced readers, subscribers, viewers, followers or even fans will assist me and assume a role in developing this medium as I proceed.

I hope to share the following: Images and ideas from my work, my opinions on style, studies on different subjects that I have been and will be exploring and all the other fun stuff, like which camera to buy etc.

Wish me luck.

boyeOctober 7, 2009 - 2:38 am
