Yewande and Paul are one of the funniest and coolest couples I’ve worked with. Atunbi, a fellow photographer who I have worked with in the past asked me to stand in for him in this photo session as he wasn’t able to cover it for them due to unforeseen circumstances. It’s always very comforting when a photographer has a network of other good photographers who can take on work on his/her behalf. I’ve found that over the years I have been blessed with photographers who understand the clients’ needs especially when it relates to wedding photography.
You’ll notice that a few shots have been inspired by Enim Photography, check out his work. Totally amazing.
God bless the finger that press the shutter lenses…nice one Mr.Alakija…although u refused to accept my request on facebook

I always look forward to seeing more of your great works..even though this is my first time making a comment!! Keep the good work as you use the language of photography to always help all see where the love started from….
Last Saturday 9 Photographers + 1 Observer met up at Portobello Road Market to go on a photo walk. This was one of the best ones I’ve attended in a while. Not only was the weather amazing, but the company, the subjects and also the food was fantastic. I feel like a lot of other photographers missed out on this one, because we all had so much fun.
Below is a sample set of photos that I just quickly processed in Lightroom for my post today. You can view some more photos from Enimien and Ovo on their facebook links.
Very nice Jide. I’ve spotted you in a number of reflections. You’re on to something. You wanted one self portrait in a market and looks like you got quite a few.
You’ve got a really good eye!
The angles, the compositions, the post work and just the look and feel of each image is great!
You seem to ‘love’ Portobello market Your photo walks are usually around there.

Bros,
Nice photo. Remind me of those time I did the same work with in this ancient side of London. I will also advise you start thinking of a focus based or story based photo walk.
I am slowly preparing for the wedding season this year and I can’t help but wonder what kinds of weddings I’m going to be photographing. The line up of couples that have signed up with Alakija & Co. this year are very different from any other years I have done. I have a whole mix from different parts of the world with different types of ceremonies. This is something I have really sought after this year– some variation. I think the challenge disappears when the work is monotonous. But with a different kind of wedding each time, I think that is when you can truly say to yourself that you’ve have been tested.
I’m also looking forward to trying out new approaches in my style and to working with new photographers and editors. Prepare yourself for some new images!
My dear friends, Joel Benson, Kelechi Amadi Obi, Lola Maja and a few others have gotten together to put a video promo on this new magazine called “Mania.” I believe the magazine has just been launched in Lagos and aims to be Nigeria’s first fashion magazine.
One thing that really stood out from the video for me apart from Joel’s amazing editing was the focus on Nigerian’s being fearless. This rings so true to me. To make a major breakthrough in your art you need to be fearless. If you are one who wants to do some really amazing work but are constantly bogged down by your concerns in executing it, you will not succeed. I often have to remind myself of this fact when ever I am about to undergo a major change in my approach, style or business. So many times I have to remember how I started- when I had literally nothing. In fact there was a time when all I had was an EOS Canon 10D body. I didn’t even own the lens I was using. This is contributed to the first 100 or so posts on my old shutterchance blog. I look at what I have today compared with what I had in the past I really should be doing a lot more. Don’t get me wrong… I do not take for granted what I have now, but I think I have personally laxed alot in my approach and let the concerns of my art overwhelm me at times.
But there are solutions to remedy this. One of my mentors once said to me that the only limitation that a person has has is their imagination. I never ever thought Shutterchance would host about 10,000 photoblogs when we started. I couldn’t see how it would work given the resources we had at the time. I never ever saw myself ever making a career as a photographer, as an international one. One thing that I know that has led me to where I am today is the ability to move fearlessly. It has been my biggest asset till today. I believe it has been the asset of those in this video.
I applaud the fact that you’re not resting on your oars, even though you’re a photography genius. I have silently (commented a few times) followed you from the days of shutterchance, and i have seen the growth & improvement in your images through the years. Continue striving to be the best at what you do, and even your imagination will not be able to comprehend the heights you will attain. Inspirational post!!!

I was a student in London when you started your blog and I believe you were a student too at that time and it has been amazing watching you and your art form grow. Really loved this post. Its about humble beginnings, faith, courage and eventually growth. I was impressed with your work then and I am still very impressed now. Cant see the slack or lax but keep up the good work!!!

I’ve been meaning to put up a couple’s portrait session for some time now. I have so much content in the area of wedding photography but not many in this arena.
