Laide + Iredia – A Couple’s Story Part 2

The last time these guys were featured they were just responders to a twitter post I put out on a mini shoot. It was from that shoot that they became my clients. Yup, I’m now shooting their wedding next month in Essex. We decided to drive up to their venue and do a proper couple’s photos session… not like the images from the previous shoot weren’t good enough.

Here are the images from different parts of their venue. We thoroughly had a great time. I’m really looking forward to documenting their big day.

Kemi + Tayo – Engagement Ceremony, London & Upcoming Photography Workshop

I’ve been away for sometime and have been VERY VERY busy establishing my business in the United States. Most of my material is still in the United Kingdom though and as a result haven’t been successful in keeping up this blog. Please bear with me.

Also my site is undergoing some changes. Over the coming weeks you will see the inclusion of a few other aspects of my work. I hope you enjoy it and, as usual, your comments are most welcome. (I TRULY value them.) I might not get the time to respond but please don’t let that stop you from sending them. Your comments really keep me going.

On another important note, my colleague, fashion stylist Crystal Deroche, and I are putting together a photography workshop in the UK. It will be held on Sunday the 25th March……Yup, that’s next week Sunday. We are incredibly excited about this. We can’t wait and are really looking forward to meeting as many of our followers as possible– unfortunately in this case, “as many as possible” is only 10 people due to space limitations at the centre.
Topics I will cover range from standard photography techniques, composition, knowing your camera, basic lighting and an intro to Photoshop. We’ll also have styling tips from Crystal and a model for you to try out some techniques (and maybe even beef up your portfolio!). All this will cost a mere £100! No really, that’s it! £100!
If you’re interested please send an email to info@alakija.com expressing your interest. Also state what camera gear you use and how you rate yourself as a photographer. We’ll send you details on what to do next in our reply.
Right… back to the blogpost. I think the photos say it all: the couple had an AMAZING time. I used a bit more lighting in this shoot provided by 3 x Canon 580 EX II and one Canon 430 EX flash. These flashes were triggered with my Canon ST-E2 trigger. Special thanks to Toyin Dawodu for assisting me.

Another set of beautiful pictures! I truly admire your work. And as an aspiring photographer in Mobile, Alabam, I am greatly interested in attending one of your workshops here in the U.S. I would even travel to a nearby major city to attend (Atlanta, GA; New Orleabs, LA; Birmingham, AL). Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing in this platform!

Natasha + Ubong – Wedding at Eltham Palace, London

I’ve been in Durham, North Carolina settling with my wife and getting through most of the post production work I’ve built up over the last couple of months. I’m glad I have this time away as it allows me to look back at all the work I’ve done, review and refocus. This year I plan to step things up a bit and improve on my approach to how I document/cover weddings and other events. I also want to create sometime to do some training programmes and workshops for my fellow budding photographers. Hears some of your comments would be most useful in helping me develop the structure for the training programmes.

Below are images from a very lovely wedding I covered in a very lovely venue in London. The grounds had some really amazing areas for photos but as my luck would have it, it rained. So typical of London weather on a Saturday. That didn’t stop the day from being a very fun and enjoyable one. The couple and their guests gave me so much to capture. This is probably amongst one of my larger blog posts, which I know most of you love.

Enjoy!

P.S. Special thanks to Toyin Dawudu and Mercy Haruna who helped me cover this one. You guys were awesome as usual.
