For the second time this year, I had no events or weddings to shoot last weekend so I used it as an opportunity to do a “Photo Walk” with my friends. With these walks anything can happen. I never come overly prepared so that I allow myself to fall into situations that challenge my creativity. Deji, the gentleman in the photos below, actually came out with us to take some photos but was dressed for an occasion which he was attending in the evening. Naturally, I couldn’t but help myself — I had to take some photos of him. He’s a natural exhibitionist, a creative song writer and singer with an eye for images through graphics and photography. As we walked along the little roads and alleys of London, we used the various scenes that we encountered for our shoot. Many thanks to Eva, Kola, Iwa and Kofo for helping out even though they all just came for the fun.
Equipment : EOS Canon 5D Mark II, Canon EF 35mm f/1.4, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L and Sigma EX DG HSM 50mm f/1.4

Excellent, loving these pictures, very vintage flair to them!
I particularly like the sixth and seventh ones, they have an “I’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse..” look
This is the 4Korners guy now ? If he didnt sing so well, I would recommend him being a model.
Nice tones, angles, compositions and right settings.. The subjects approach works very well here, it’s interesting how you naturally worked with it all. Top class work Jide!.
Feeeeling IT!!
Jide would u mind sharing some tips on how to achieve this vintage style. a lil photoshop tutorial maybe, pretty plss
Love them all as each creates its story with the subject fitting in to different profiles. Vintage is the word – the bag, car, bike, shoes and hat all play well
As usual another Alakija moment
Jid,
Great pics as ever! My fave ones are probably:
- the third one of Deji (he certainly stands out most here with the good depth of field and close-up shot, with his face being in focus accompanied by a good deal of saturation, oh and a nice slight angle making it a bit more edgy).
- and the ninth one of Deji where he stands with two people in the back ground either side of him. He stands out well from the other people and I like the pose
Infact they’re all good ‘model’ shots.
The first few he looks like he’s waiting for his driver to take him to an important meeting!
Fab stuff.
Oh and yah wow – 2nd weekend of the year you were free ? !
This is cinematic. Deji is a natural. Even during a wedding interview I filmed him on, he had the edge (swaga…). Jide this is another classic work from you and I salute you. Very creative. Good job.
Jide,
without repeating what Tosind said….. , its the vintage feel to the pictures that do it for me. i also think your directing skills are brilliant, you know how to get what you want out of your subjects/models. hopefully i’ll get to see more of you in action….
real good work mate!
Great Pictures! Nice Photography…I like the angle stuff. Just too much.
lovely photos. love the perspective in all these shots. deji seems pretty confident, and i think you captured that pretty well! nice!!!
Not sure whether to be afraid of this guy Deji or For him in these pics. He looks like he could be about to blow something up or be blown up! Love the mirroring in the window …
I adore your work – I go back again and again to look at your .com galleries. This is no less intriguing. It’s the life in and behind the pictures that draws me in. Always a question mark … a history and a future to the people you have portrayed. They are never static. Wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing.
MJM.
Uncle Jide!! i want a photoshoot too!!! lol,
Deji, Scott Schuman would LOVE you! Lol.
Don’t know anything about the technical side of photography but I do like the photos very much, especially the ‘blurry’ ones that have a vintage feel to them. And I love vintage
)
Well done Jide.
