Pride Magazine Fashion Feature

We’re so happy to have had our work featured in last months issue of Pride Magazine. Special thanks to Crystal Deroche for styling and organising this shoot. Crystal has offered so much support to us in helping us develop our fashion portfolio. I would recommend her to anyone wishing to get some work done in this arena. Make up was by Stacy Okafor, a long term friend who’s been featured on this blog a few times. Her make up work was impecable. Hair was styled by the most creative Kirby Ricarda, she pulled out some stops that just made this even more amazing. Model featured is Mercy Saidi, now she’s just a natural talent. So easy to work with and you can see why she’s on her way to the top. I was assisted by my cousin Eniola Alakija, he’s another product of the Alakija creative clan. I don’t think I could have worked with anyone else.

Gayle, A Portrait – The other side of our work

As a traveling wedding photographer it can be really challenging finding time to work on other projects that are not related to a man and woman committing to a life of love and bliss. Jeffrey and I have just returned from shooting another amazing wedding in the Vatican City in Italy and are now off to shoot another wedding in Philadelphia, USA this week. That would be 4 countries in one week!! Eeek!

I really do love traveling and photographing weddings, you get to experience different things in different locations that are very easily taken for granted when you work in the same place. For one the light is always different. I also love taking photos of people in their most natural environment. Below is a photograph I took as part of a series of shots with a friend of mine. Her name is Gayle and she models as a part time vocation. We have been talking about working together for over a year but our travel schedules and her work has never allowed for that to happen, not until recently. In my opinion we killed it. Jeffrey was there to shoot too.

Kathryn + Nathan, Rose Hall, Montego Bay, Jamaica – Preview

We’ve been away in the beautiful Caribbean covering Kathryn and Nathan’s wedding. It’s good to get away and get some sunshine whilst working. We had such a great time doing this job as the couple and their family made us feel very much at home. It was almost like we were on holiday for the most part.

We have so much of a back log in terms of the images we want to show on the blog. Things have been extremely busy at the studio. We’re not complaining but we do love to share some of the most exciting experiences we have had or are having.

Enjoy these for now. We have more to post soon.

How did you capture the enlarge version of bride’s veil? Is it attached to any place to look like this, or someone just hold that beforing taking this shot?

Evening Photo walk during the London heatwave

We’ve had a very hot summer in London. I really miss it. My brother in law, Dayo, Jeffrey and I decided one day to talk a walk around the London’s West End to take some photos. I haven’t done that in a while. It’s so interesting seeing the town light up after being beaten by such hot weather. People tend to be very alive and refreshed. I’ll say no more and let the photos speak for themselves.

The time is 9 o’clock in the evening…

We’re back from Nice and Monaco

Jeffrey and I have been in Nice and  Monaco twice this month shooting destination weddings for couples who live in Nigeria and London. We have had such an amazing and challenging time working through the language barrier as neither of us speaks any form of conversational French. We’ve also had the challenge of dealing with some serious climatic conditions. The heat and humidity was extreme! We found ourselves literally sweating through (allow me use the metaphor) our gear! It’s been a very hot summer. Needless to say we got some really amazing moments at both weddings.

Above is an image from Shola and Lekan’s engagement session which we shot a day before their wedding day. Enjoy!
